Yesterday I showed you the cotton cowl I made for this month’s craft swap. Today I get to show off other people’s genius. (This crew makes it pretty easy.)
Since this was the December swap, Marla and Whitney made DIY advent calendars for each other. Such a sweet idea. Reminded me of something my sisters would do. (Hint: you guys should do this!) They each found 25 small gifts for each other like candy, knick nacks and nail polish and wrapped them up in darling, yet totally different, ways. Whitney created 25 of these boxes, grommets and all, BY HAND. This woman is
crazy amazing. I was so impressed that she decided to DIY each box. I think I would have taken the first train to The Container Store. But hers are much cooler.
Marla went a less cubic direction and wrapped each of her small gifts in fabric. She painted numbers on wooden clothespins so Whitney would know which to open each day. The gift also included a rope to hang all of them from, which turned the little pouches of holly jolly into to a bonus Christmas decoration.
Now are you ready to see what Emily made me? Taaa-daaaa! I’m pretty sure these necklaces are every one of my Pinterest boards plus a few items in my closet sprinkled with a little bit of everything I’ve ever envied in a JCrew catalog. Emily nailed it. Nailed. It. Doesn’t it just make you feel so special and acknowledged when someone gives you a gift that’s absolutely perfect for you? For me, these necklaces are that. Emily is one thoughtful cookie.
