    Learn How to Crochet a Hexagon Cardigan

    This granny stitch sweater starts with two simple hexagons, which you'll transform into the sleeves and chest of a modern cardigan.

    And while the original is one of our most popular designs, we've just revamped the entire pattern!

    The new and improved Campfire Cardigan pattern now features expanded sizing (plus sizes and kids sizes!) and instructions for adding pockets and a professional-looking ribbing. 

    I’ve loaded the pattern with suggestions on how to customize it for your particular body. Since you can try it on as you go, it’s a great first-sweater pattern for beginners.

    When you join the free crochet along, you'll be part of a wonderful community of fellow makers. Starting on October 13, we'll all be crocheting our Campfire Cardigans together over the course of four weeks.

    You can work at your own pace or keep up with the group – the choice is yours!

    To help ensure your sweater success, we'll send you weekly insider emails filled with helpful tips, tricks, and technique tutorials. In our friendly Facebook group, you'll have all the support you need to create your own stunning Campfire Cardigan.

    Yarn Details + Substitutions

    If you want to substitute yarns or use your stash, here's what to look for:

    • a worsted weight (category 4) yarn
    • six different colors
    • try a self-striping yarn like Lion Brand Mandala Ombre if you avoid weaving in ends at all costs
