Here we answer the most common questions about how to access our free patterns. What the brief video tutorial, or jump to the FAQs below.
To access the free patterns, follow the steps below:
1. When you come across locked content, click the button that says, “Join now for free!”
2. A Grow.me popup will appear. Type in your email address and a password. (Make sure to save your password somewhere safe!)
3. Click the box to agree to Grow’s terms of service.
4. Once your account is created, you can log in wherever you see exclusive content on our blog! The free pattern will automatically unlock and soon you’ll be knee-deep in your next WIP.
If you signed up previously, click “Switch To Log In” to enter your login credentials.
If you’ve forgotten your password, click “Forgot password.”
Nope! Once you create your Grow account and log in, your browser should remember you for future visits. If you’re using the same device, you shouldn’t need to log in every time.
However, if you clear your cookies or switch devices, you may need to log back in.
It happens to the best of us. 😉 If you forget your password, click the “Forgot password” link on the Grow login screen. Follow the prompts to reset it, and in no time, you’ll be back to enjoying our free patterns.
Please note that password resets are handled through the Grow platform and we are unable to help with password resets.
We love that you’ve been crocheting along with us via email! Yes, you’ll need to complete the account sign up one time.
But don’t worry, this will not cause you to receive double emails. 😉
Yes, you’ll need to create a Make & Do Crew account, but you may use the same email address you’ve elsewhere.
Yes, you can access our locked content on both mobile and desktop. Whether you’re browsing on your phone, tablet, or computer, you’ll be able to log into your Grow account and enjoy all the free patterns wherever you crochet best.

If you prefer, we also offer printable PDF patterns you can purchase without providing your email address.
Yes, you can save any free pattern by clicking the heart icon on the right side of the screen. The blog post with the free pattern will be bookmarked in your Grow account, where you can easily reference it when you’re ready.
